Collection: Rustic edge slings

When we cut our leather straps from the buffalo hide to make our slings, the edge is squared off by the cutting blade. If we left the edge squared off like that it would be uncomfortable because you would feel that squared off edge when you shoulder your sling or use the sling as a shooting brace.  So, to eliminate that square edge, we use a hand tool to bevel the edges. At this point in the process you have an unfinished rustic edge. The next step is that we would burnish the edges by hand and finish coat them if we want the final product to have a finished edge.  Some of our slings have a rustic unfinished beveled edge. Some people prefer the rustic edge look. You also save some money getting a rustic edged sling over a finished edge.
